Expositor's Bible: The Epistle of St. Paul to the Romans

by Handley Moule

Summary

Expositor's Bible: The Epistle of St. Paul to the Romans (1894) is part of the original fifty volumes known as The Expositor's Bible, edited by W. Robertson Nicoll. Handley C. G. Moule does this exposition of Romans. The introductory Preface includes comments on the difficulties (in some cases) in translating the original Greek into English. Moule also consists of some contextual insights into the writing of Romans. The sixteen Romans chapters are broken up into thirty-two chapters with a topical heading and scripture reference. For example, Chapter 4 is entitled"Need for the Gospel: God's Anger and Man's Sin," using Romans 1:18-23. Following through with the preface, each chapter includes footnotes, many of which deal with the interpretation/translation of the original Greek.
