Expositor's Bible: The Song of Solomon and the Lamentations of Jeremiah

Expositor's Bible is a fifty-volume commentary on the books of the Bible edited by W. Robertson Nicoll. These commentaries on the books of The Song of Solomon and the Lamentations of Jeremiah are written by Walter F. Adeney, a New Testament professor at New College of London. The Song of Solomon is broken down into five sections, starting with how the book is structured and ending with a defense of its canonicity. In between these bookends are chapters on, of course,"Love." True love, unquenchable love, and its mystical element are all addressed with commentary and application. Jeremiah's prophecy is divided into twenty-four sections with such topics as"Sin and Shame,""Lepers,""Desolation," and"The Unfailing Goodness of God," after introducing Hebrew poems (elegies) and the theme of Jeremiah's poetry.
