Biography

Zosimus lived as a hermit after being released from persecution in Diocletian’s prison. Athanasuis gave testimony as to Zosimus’ coming through torture unharmed. Zosimus lived during the third century. As a monk, he had lived piously and denied himself many of this world’s pleasures in order to please God and draw closer to God. Zosimus has been venerated by several churches. The Eastern Orthodox Church celebrates his sainthood on January 4.
