Biography

Swedish-born Paul Wernle was a theologian with particular expertise in New Testament studies. He was a professor at the University of Basel, where he focused on dogmatics and the history of the church. He spent several years researching the synoptic gospels and the Pauline epistles. On April 11, 1939, Wernle passed away in the city of Basel.
