G.B. Stevens
Biography
George Barker (G.B.) Stevens was born in 1854 to a farming family. Stevens left the farm to pursue an education at Rochester Theological Seminary and Yale Divinity School. After earning his divinity degree, Stevens served a Congregational church followed by a Presbyterian church. A scholarly man, he would also earn doctorate degrees in Divinity, Law, and Sacred Theology. He spent nearly a decade as a professor of New Testament criticism. For the last ten years of his life, Stevens chaired the systematic theology department of Yale Divinity School. Stevens died in 1906 leaving behind a body of books mostly regarding the New Testament.Wailand Groenendyk
