John of Salisbury
Biography
John of Salisbury was born in England around the year 1115. He was a secretary to the archbishops. John authored a couple of books, Policraticus and the Metalogicon, criticizing the specialization of roles in politics and the papacy. For his views, he fell out of favor with the ruling authorities. John spent some time in exile. In 1176, he became a bishop. He was considered an accomplished Latinist. On October 25, 1180, John breathed his last and was buried in France.Wailand Groenendyk
