Biography

Henry Wheeler Robinson, a theologian, was born in England on February 7, 1872. Robinson attended four different universities. Besides being an ordained minister, he was Regent's Park Baptist College's principal. During his tenure, he facilitated the college's move from London to Oxford. His scholarly passion and focus was the Old Testament; in fact, he served as the President of the Society for Old Testament Study for several years. Robinson was a prolific writer throughout his lifetime. The Life and Faith of the Baptists (1927), Baptist Principles (1925), The Old Testament, Its Making and Meaning (1937), and The Cross in the Old Testament (1960) are just some of his many publications. Robinson died on May 12, 1945.
