Meister Eckhart Vol. 1
by Franz Pfeiffer
Summary
Meister Eckhart was born around the year 1260 and died around 1327. He was a renowned theologian and mystic. He became a friar at the age of 15 and later served as a vicar. Author, preacher, and teacher Eckhart had a lot of influence over his audiences. His search for answers to such questions as"Who is God?""How can we relate to God?" "What is the goal of humanity?" led him to expound upon answers that were sometimes controversial. Like Origen, Eckhart incorporated universalism as a Christian doctrine. Franz Pfeiffer has collected Eckhart's writings and published many in this volume.
