Biography

Bishop John Pearson was born in England in 1613. Educated at Eton College and Queen's College, he became a scholar and a fellow at King's College. After serving as a military chaplain, he became a preacher at St. Clements in London. Pearson was a prolific writer, but his most well-known work is Exposition of the Creed. As a minister in the Church of England, he was a proponent of Calvinism and wrote against Arminianism. Buried in Chester Cathedral, Pearson died in July of 1686.
