Papias
Biography
Apostolic Father Papias was the Bishop of Heiropolis. As such he would have had contact with at least some of Jesus' disciples. In fact he writes that he was a"hearer of John." Papias lived toward the end of the first century into the second century. It is within the writings of Papias that we get eyewitness and firsthand accounts of the apostle's words and actions. The surviving writings of Pipias are but fragments of the originals. These fragments are included in a variety of books among which are Writings of the Apostolic Fathers, Polycarp, Papias, and Diognetus, and The Fragments of Papias.Wailand Groenendyk
