Biography

Peter (Petrus) Van Mastricht was born in 1630. He was educated at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. After leading congregations as a pastor, Van Mastricht became a professor of Hebrew. He also authored many books on Reformed theology. His topics included regeneration and free will. Van Mastricht applies the principles of exegesis, known dogma, refutation, and application to his studies and writings. His most notable work is his Theoretical and Practical Theology. Van Mastricht died while in the Netherlands in 1706.
