Vicar's Daughter

Vicar's Daughter is George MacDonald's follow-up to The Seaboard Parish. The main character is Ethelwyn Percivale, now a married woman. Ethelwyn narrates the story, which is her story. Each of the 43 chapters shares a slice of her life, those she interacts with, and situations she has to deal with. In MacDonald's usual way, spiritual truths and teachings are woven into the fabric of the stories.
