Salted with Fire

Salted with Fire (1893) by Scottish author George Macdonald follows the adventures of Maggie MacLean. Maggie's father is a shoemaker, a trade that Maggie embraces wholeheartedly. But she has other adventures to navigate, such as a renewed friendship and finding an abandoned baby. There is a spiritual element to the story as Maggie and her father live out their Christian faith. Written in the Scottish brogue, it is a fun read.
