Biography

Edward Arthur Litton was born in 1813. He attended Oxford and earned his divinity degree. As an Anglican pastor, he shepherded three village churches in England. He and his wife, Anne, had three children. Other details of his life are rather obscure but he is known for his book, Introduction to Dogmatic Theology (1882). The book was written by Litton to give other Anglican pastors a framework and exposition on the 39 Articles of Religion that were practiced by the Church of England. As recently as 2018 this work was republished. During his lifetime, Litton wrote several other theological books. Litton died in Dublin in 1897.
