Biography
George Eldon Ladd was born in Canada on July 31, 1911. His parents soon moved the family to the United States. Ladd attended Gordon College of Massachusetts. At the Northern Baptist Convention of 1933, Ladd became an ordained pastor. He was an instructor and professor at Gordon College of Theology and Missions. He earned a Ph.D. from Harvard. In 1950, he began teaching biblical theology at Fuller Theological Seminary in California. Ladd's A Theology of the New Testament has been the standard text for seminarians. Ladd wrote many other books, articles, and contributing chapters to books throughout his lifetime. At the age of 71, Ladd died on October 5, 1982.Wailand Groenendyk
