Expositor's Bible: The Book of Proverbs
by Robert Horton
Summary
Expositor's Bible: The Book of Proverbs (1882) is part of the original fifty volumes known as The Expositor's Bible, edited by W. Robertson Nicoll. This commentary on Proverbs is the work of R. F. Horton. Each of the thirty-one chapters of Proverbs is dealt with individually. Horton has also assigned a word or phrase to each chapter as a general indicator of that chapter's content/topic. For example, chapter ten is entitled"Wealth," and chapter twelve is titled"The Tongue." Horton also includes an introductory chapter that provides some historical background to using proverbs and how the book of Proverbs is laid out structurally. This work also has an index of passages and a General Index to easily find a topic or word in the book of Proverbs.
