Short method of prayer, and Spiritual torrents, tr. by A.W. Marston

by Madam Guyon

Summary

A Short Method of Prayer and Spiritual Torrents were written by Madam Jeanne-Marie Bouvier de la Motte-Guyan. Although a practicing Roman Catholic, Guyan held and wrote about several protestant ideas and wrote about them. Her views and her writings caused her to be in conflict with the catholic leadership. She wrote of her experiences with prayer in a simple and heart-to-heart communication with God. The second title belies the fact that Guyan practices quietism. This second"book" is focused on the soul and its journey through life and death. This book was published in London in 1875.
