Synthetic Bible Studies by James Gray guides the reader through the Old and New Testaments. Gray approaches each book of the Bible as a whole. He has but five"rules" for getting the most out of this method of Bible study. Rule one is"reading of scripture" for each lesson. The second rule is to read the assigned scripture in one sitting and its entirety. Rule three is to read the scripture several times, savoring it over and over. Fourthly, read the scripture independently of commentaries or other resources. Lastly, bathe the scripture reading and study materials in prayer. Gray attests to the spiritual growth gained from this study process.
