Biography

Scottish theologian Robert Flint was born in Greenburn on March 14, 1838. He excelled at the University of Glasgow in the arts and divinity. He served as a missionary and preacher in the Church of Scotland. At the University of St. Andrews, Flint was a professor of moral philosophy. He chaired the Divinity department at the University of Edinburgh. He lectured in many places, including America. His body of written work includes Agnosticism (1903), Socialism (1894), and Anti-Theistic Theories (1879). Flint never married. He died on November 25, 1910, at home in Edinburgh.
