Expositor's Bible: The Epistle to the Galatians

Expositor's Bible: The Epistle to the Galatians (1893) is part of the original fifty volumes, The Expositor's Bible, edited by W. Robertson Nicoll. This commentary on the book of Galatians was written by George Gillanders (G. G.) Findlay. Findlay begins his commentary with a Prologue delineating the reason for writing the church at Galatia and the stunned surprise Paul finds with their willingness to run after a false gospel. The second section is Paul's review of the gospel with its"pillars" and principles put up against"false brethren." This leads to Findlay following the Old Testament teachings used by Paul to point to Christ's redeeming work. Chapters 22 through 27 of this volume flesh out the practices of believing the Gospel from the Fruit of the Spirit to sowing and reaping a harvest. Findlay concludes this volume with an explanation of what it means to"bear the brand of Christ."
