Existence of God

by François Fénelon

Summary

The Existence of God by Francois Fénelon offers eighty-five proofs that God exists. Proofs from nature, physics, space, creatures, the human body and its parts, reason, and many others are argued by this sixteenth-century priest who was a prolific author and deeply dedicated to pious living. He was preaching at the age of 15, and by the age of 24, he was a priest. He was also appointed as tutor of Louis XIV's grandson. Fénelon was in disagreement with the Pope on some issues and eventually was condemned and banished by the Pope. Fénelon lived from 1651 to 1715.
