Expositor's Bible: The Gospel of St. John, Volume I

by Marcus Dods

Expositor's Bible: The Gospel of St. John Volume I is part of the original fifty volumes of The Expositor's Bible edited by W. Robertson Nicoll. This is the second volume of a two-volume commentary by Marcus Dods on the Gospel of St. John. He is starting with John 1 and concluding with John 11 for this volume. Dod's explanation of John's gospel is thorough and practical. He uses the roles of Jesus (Good Sheperd, the Scapegoat, The Son of God, the Light of the World, etc.) as a focal point in several of his chapters in this book.
