Scripture Alphabet of Animals

Scripture Alphabet of Animals was authored by Harriet Newell Cook. Cook has scoured the Bible for animal names. From Proverbs:"Go to the ant, thou sluggard…" provides an animal for the letter A. She has included 33 animals, at least one for each of the first twenty-three alphabet letters. She does not include animals whose names begin with x, y, or z. The contents page lists the animals in the book, with multiple animals for some of the letters. This book was published in 1842 and is illustrated with woodcut prints.
