Summary

A 4th-century bishop, John Chrysostom, wrote a treatise titled Against Those Who Oppose Monastic Life. The people of Antioch were accustomed to having their sons being taught by the monks of the city. Chrysostom used this treatise to defend and encourage contemplation of the monastic way of life. At the time of the writing, Chrysostom was a deacon. This copy is written in Greek.
