Victorian Age in Literature

The Victorian Age in Literature by Gilbert Keith (G.K.) Chesterton explores various authors who lived and wrote during the Victorian era. Chesterton's book is not meant to be an exhaustive study of Victorian authors and their content. But instead, here we have Chesterton's personal view of various authors (both novelists and poets) such as Dickens, Brontë, and Thackeray and what they contributed to society through their writing skills. Chesterton seeks to show the impact Victorian authors had on society through the characters they developed and their perspectives of the culture around them.
