Advertised as a"comic novel," the cover art gives a great summary of some of the threads that make up this G.K. Chesterton novel written in 1912. One can expect"murder, bigamy, burglary, and insanity" with sprinkles of"truth, beauty, and the goodness of life." Chesterton's main character, Innocent Smith, interacts with a wide range of characters who at times believe Smith to be one of the greatest people alive and at other times accuse him of the most heinous of crimes. The reader will feel the rollercoaster ride as the story unfolds or rather unravels.
