Emily Bronte
Biography
It was a short life of only thirty years. Emily Bronte was born in England in 1818 and died of tuberculosis in 1848. However, Bronte left behind a much-acclaimed novel, Wuthering Heights, as a lasting legacy. It was her only novel published besides some of her poetry, which was combined with the writing of two of her sisters for publication. Bronte attempted to teach, but its stress caused her to resign and return home. She and her sister had aspirations of opening their school. While her one novel was poorly reviewed and received initially, it has since become a point of English pride and is greatly loved by many worldwide.Wailand Groenendyk
