Writings of the Rev. John Bradford, Prebendary of St. Paul's, and Martyr

by John Bradford

Summary

John Bradford, Prebendary of St. Paul's, and Martyr, A.D. 1555 is a compilation of prayers and meditations written by John Bradford. This work also includes a brief biography of this English minister and some of his letters. Bradford experienced religious freedom and social acceptance for much of his adulthood, but life changed for Bradford with the ascent of Mary I to the throne. Queen Mary had Bradford imprisoned, tried, and burned at the stake. Bradford's martyrdom added to the story and strength of the Reformers in 1555.
