Notes on the New Testament: Explanatory and Practical; Romans (1949) by Albert Barnes is a thorough commentary on the gospels of Romans. Barnes notes that Romans can be challenging to understand and is, therefore, sometimes avoided by young people and lay teachers. Barnes has attempted to make this commentary reader-friendly regardless of age or background so that Romans can be explored and spiritually enriching to all audiences. Generally, each book page has two or three verses at the top, with the remainder dedicated to the cited verses' background, explanation, and application. The book also has many engravings of various things mentioned throughout Romans. This is the enlarged type edition.
