Biography

Anna Laetitia Barbauld (nee Aikin) was born in England in 1825. She was an outstanding poet who focused on the political and social climate of her day. She married a protestant pastor from France. Using her literary skills, she wrote hymns such as “Life, I Know Not What Thou Art.” Barbauld spent time editing Poetical Works by William Collins and British Novelists. Barbauld died on March 9, 1825, in a city close to London.
