Description: The Apostolic Fathers are a group of early
Christian authors whose writings date back to the middle
of the first century. Included among the Apostolic Fathers are St.
Clement of Rome, Ignatius of Antioch, St. Polycarp of Smyrna, Didache,
Barnabas of Alexandria, The Shepherd of Hermas, and Diognetus. Though
their writings are not included in the New Testament, these Christian
leaders are believed to have had contact with Jesus' twelve disciplines.
This collection of writings reveals the practices and theology of early
Pauline Christianity as it developed in churches across different
cultures. In order to preserve the authenticity of these writings, this
version of Apostolic Fathers remains in the original Greek; the
book
will be useful for pastors, scholars, and seminarians who are familiar
with the Greek language.
