Biography

Norman J. Endicott was born in China in 1902. His father was the Foreign Missionary secretary for the Methodist church. Endicott's family moved to Canada, where he attended Oakwood and Victoria College. His passion for literature, particularly poetry, was evident in the classes he taught at University College and the volumes he edited and collected throughout his lifetime. One such editing undertaking was the Selected Poetry of George Herbert (1593-1633). Endicott's legacy also includes several original works, The Garden of Cyrus and Christian Morals. Endicott died in 1979.
